Community Support Worker - Far North (Kaitaia)

Part-time hours available - Based in Kaitaia

8 hours per week; 10.30 am until 2.30 pm every Wednesday and Thursday

CCS Disability Action's vision is to see every disabled person/whānau hauā interwoven into the lives of their whānau and community.

We are the largest pan-disability support and advocacy organisation in New Zealand. Since 1935, we have been at the forefront of service provision, advocacy, and information sharing, working closely with disabled people / whānau hauā and their families across New Zealand.

We are looking for a Community Support Worker to work with an adult living in Kaitaia who needs support to attend the pre-planned community activities of their choice. They need a support worker who is reliable, patient and fun.

  • Have a passion for supporting others to lead good lives
  • Share CCS Disability Action's values, supporting disabled people to be connected within their whānau and communities, and respecting that wellbeing looks different for everyone
  • Have strong connections to the community
  • Are willing to use your diverse background and identity to expand how we support people.
  • Are reliable, can work independently and communicate effectively
  • Have a Health Care Assistant Qualification or a Level 2 or 3 equivalent - this is preferred but not essential. All training will be provided
  • Have a full driver's license and a reliable vehicle with current WOF and registration. Part of this work includes transporting the person we support. Mileage will be paid at agreed rate.
